Why We Built This Site
Public court information in Cook County is spread across a local court office, a statewide remote portal, courthouse terminals, calendar pages, and separate payment or copy channels. Minnesota uses a unified District Court, and Cook County Court Administration is the local keeper for records across criminal, civil, family, probate, juvenile, traffic, and conciliation matters. The aim is to make the official routes easier to recognize without implying that this private resource controls those records.
MCRO provides the public remote Register of Actions. The Cook courthouse offers a fuller public terminal view, while Court Administration handles local files and certification. Those channels can return different levels of access, so a practical explanation needs more than one web link.
What You Will Find Here
The site organizes local access information around the kinds of questions a person may have about an existing Cook County matter.
- Docket search: official MCRO routes for criminal and civil case histories
- Court dates: the weekly calendar, Hearing Search, and local confirmation channel
- Case lookup: name, case-number, citation, and attorney search methods
- Record access: public documents, certified copies, courthouse terminal access, and rule-based limits
What We Cannot Do
Cook County Court Docket is not a court, a clerk office, a legal service, or a public-record database. It cannot access nonpublic files, issue an official copy, change a setting, make a payment decision, or provide legal advice. Only Cook County Court Administration, the Minnesota District Court, or another record custodian can confirm the current official status of a case.
A remote result is not a certified court record. For an official copy, a current hearing confirmation, or access to a restricted file, contact the originating court or clerk.
Search Partners
Some content pages include search boxes operated by third-party providers. Those providers set their own terms, prices, and result practices. A paid enrollment through a provider may create a referral payment that supports this free reference resource. Cook County Court Docket does not control provider results or prices.
